Educational apps can be a really easy way to sneak in some extra learning. My kids tend to prefer playing a math game over doing a math worksheet just about any day. Here are some of my family's favorite educational apps for kids, organized by subject:
*Most of these links take you to the Google Play Store, but the majority of them are also available for Apple devices.
Preschool
-Starfall: Starfall has been a favorite in our homeschool for many years now. I put it in both the preschool and general education sections because it covers a wide range of subjects for preschool through about 3rd grade. It offers math games, a virtual library, lots of reading games, and more.

-Seek by iNaturalist: Seek is an awesome app that we use constantly. It's for identifying plants, animals, and fungi. You upload a picture or pictures of the organism you are trying to identify, enter the location you found it, and then it gives you the most likely candidates.

Math
-Number Run: Number Run is a math game that covers addition through division.
-Math Kids- Add, Subtract, Count: Math Kids has games for practicing counting, adding, and subtracting skills.

-Monster Math 2: Monster Math offers math games for grades K-5 and includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
-Geometry Pad: Geometry Pad is a pretty awesome app! It's an interactive workbook that can be used to make, manipulate, and measure geometric shapes.

-Reading IQ: I love the Reading IQ app. It's a huge digital children's library. It has loads of awesome books, and some books have a read aloud option.
-Hooked on Phonics: The Hooked on Phonics app has games and books that focus on letter sounds, phonetic awareness, and early reading skills.
-Epic- Kids' Books and Educational Reading Library: Epic is another awesome digital children's library.
